EVA Foam
This specific type of foam is commonly used in the prop industry to create realistic object that are soft and can’t hurt anyone. EVA or Ethylene-vinyl acetate foam is a soft material that can be cut, glued ,and sculpted into any shape, commonly used for weapons and armor that would be safer than the real thing. I want to get into the prop industry so learning to use this material correctly and flawlessly would be a great help to me achieving that goal.
Silicone mold making/resin casting
Mold making and cast is technique I have only done in bronze but in that method I could only make one sculpture. With silicone it has the ability to be used multiple times making it easier to duplicate the same thing. I specifically want to learn to cast resin in silicone because resin can not only capture amazing detail in the mold but also provide great strength. This allows for the object to be used a bit more without potential breaking. Another benefit to casting in resin is there are an endless amount of colors that it can be cast in (including clear) can help create a base for paint or can be the finished color of the product.
3D modeling
I want to become more proficient with me 3D modeling to the point where if I need something for a sculpture I can just make it and print it out. I am getting to that point slowly but the to have this ability means to be able to create anything by another mean. Instead of sculpting a piece of clay and cast it I could create it in Fusion, print that on a 3D print and cast that.
