About the Artist

Biography

Wesley Flessner is currently attending The University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design getting a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with a concentration in sculpture and a minor in art history. Throughout his life, Wesley has been working with his hands, making wood projects since he was a little kid and learning how to weld when he was 10. He grew up around creative people, his mother loves to sew and taught him how and his uncle does metalwork and taught him to weld. His family of craftsmen and women surrounded him with influences that can be seen in his work today. His art uses a range of materials and methods, making sure that his art is not restrained to what he only knows, and takes pride in spending time learning and developing his abilities. Doing so provides his audience with a multitude of art styles and media that show off his craftsmanship and versatility. Wesley’s art has been shown in the University of North Texas Sculpture Gallery as well as UNTs Union Gallery. His work is  currently on display at UNT’s Health and Wellness center where he also achieved first place in the Healing arts showcase.
